Diving in the Sky

Skydiving is one of those things that's on many people's bucket lists, but it never happens. I figured it would be the same for me. I've always wanted to do it, but who knows when I ever would. I was watching some reality television (my guilty pleasure), and the people on the show went skydiving. It looked so fun, and they made it seem not scary. My best friend, Inna, turned eighteen on July 2, so on her birthday I brought the idea up (completely expecting her to say, "no way"). The conversation went something like this:

Me: "Don't say no right away, just think about this okay... Don't you want to do something crazy and fun this summer? And since you're 18 now... How about skydiving!?" (I'm terrible at persuasion, so after listing all the reasons why it would be the coolest thing ever, it became more of a "please, please, please.")

Inna: "Yeah, okay. I'll think about it." (She later told me that she fully intended to say, "NO.")

A week or so later, I brought it up and asked if she'd thought about it. I guess I was persistent enough because to my surprise she said YES! We were going to go skydiving! I made the reservation at Skydive Oregon - and there was no going back.

I can honestly say that it was NOT scary — exhilarating, but not terrifying! The moment I saw my friend disappear off the plane right before I was going to do the same did get my heart pounding, but the actual experience of flying through the sky was somewhat peaceful and relaxing. It's completely surreal — it felt like I was watching a video, not actually doing it. My mind didn't grasp the fact that I was in the middle of the sky looking down on Earth. And the view was breath-taking! From up there, everything seems so close, and you can even see the roundness of the Earth. You feel like a bird during the ten minute parachute ride that the instructor lets you control (you can turn and do spins). It's an incredible thrill, and I would do it a hundred times again. So if you've been wanting to do it, GO. It's completely worth it.

I made this little video out of the GoPro raw footage. Here's a link to the awesome song playing that fits so perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6P7lgfo9Gk

F is for {Floral}

Yesterday, we had a tea party in my sister's backyard. And what a marvelous time it was. The evening was filled with picture-taking, video-making, music, dancing, and of course tea-drinking. The warm weather has returned to Portland, hopefully for a while now, and spending a spring-almost-summer evening outside couldn't have been more perfect.

 Spring term is almost over, I've just got some finals to get through. I can't wait to cross off some things on my to-do list this summer. I'd like to do some more research about different universities and careers in order to get a better focus on what I want to do when I "grow up". Especially now, I keep getting asked, "What's your major?" or "What are you going for?" My answer: "Business, I guess." I know I have time to figure it out, but the sooner, the better. Besides school stuff, I want to enjoy my leisure time as well. I won't be completely free because I'm still taking three online classes, but that shouldn't be too rough. I miss reading books, normal books. Not textbooks! So I cannot wait to finally start going through my unread bookshelf. And to my poor, unused camera that's been gathering dust, I will pick you up again, I will! That's what's on my mind on this sunny Wednesday. Be blessed friends ♡.

I'm loving the Juicy Couture bag I recently purchased, the pretty lilac-y color goes great with a lot of looks especially for spring/summer. And that denim vest used to be a jacket, I cut the sleeves off because I just couldn't find the right jean vest for summer last year, so I made my own.

Be Happy

We had a smidgin of sun this week, and I got to enjoy some of it at the beach.
Here in Oregon, we try to soak in as much Vitamin D as we can.
I've been remininising summer days, as I'm sure many of you have.
Anyways, just sending out a positive message to y'all.
I'm over here dreaming big and being happy.

Blessings to you this week.

Florida {Summer Adventures}

I started off my summer in Florida with my best friend visiting her sister. The week I spent there was wonderful. Tasha made sure to keep us entertained. We did some shopping in the huge mall, went paddleboating, & celebrated Inna's birthday by going to Disney World (where else?). The rain has started back up again in Oregon. So let's just say I'm missing the Florida sunshine. Here's some pictures from a day we spent strolling the streets:
(dress: Urban Outfitters, purse: PourLaVictoire, headband: American Apparel, ring: Claires, bracelet: forgot, sunglasses: borrowed)

I'll continue posting pictures from my {summer adventures} including a birthday photoshoot my sister & I did. So stay tuned

Beach&Volleyball

These were taken this summer, and I totally forgot to post about this! It was such a fun day at the Seaside Volleyball Tournament. I expected it to be cold, but it turned out to be really hot and I even got burned. Anyways, there's just a little glimpse of this past amazing summer. Can't wait till June! Happy Thursday lovelies.
